Dark circles

It also has natural bleaching property that lightens up the skin to a maximum extent., along with a lot of vitamins to regenerate damaged skin, as well as moisturising properties. All these help fade away the dark circles and gives the skin a soft, supple look. All you need to do is mix one teaspoon of tomato juice with a teaspoon of lemon juice and apply it under your eyes. Put it above your dark circles for about 10 minutes and then, wash it off with warm water. Repeat this remedy at least twice a day. Puffy eyes

The good news is that experts say eye puffiness is not a result of lack of sleep or even unwell sleep. But the bad news? Your daily habits and even genetics are to blame. Eye puffiness is most often caused by under eye water retention, either excess water or buildup of lymphatic fluid. Irritation and redness could be caused by rubbing your eyes, allergic reactions to makeup or something else in our environments (allergies, pets, etc.). There are some natural remedies that you can try; the most popular one is a cucumber. Cucumbers have been used for years as a home remedy for puffy eyes. Cucumbers contain antioxidants and flavonoids that help with redness, swelling and irritation. Use cool cucumber for extra puffy eye relief. Place a cool slice on each eye and relax for 30 minutes. Afterward, you’ll feel all refreshed, and your eyes feel like they have been revived.

Eat well

Good, healthy eyes start with the food on your plate. Nutrients like omega-3 fatty acids, lutein, zinc, and vitamins C and E might help ward off age-related vision problems like macular degeneration and cataracts. To get those nutrients, fill your plate with:

  • Green leafy vegetables like spinach, kale, and collards
  • Salmon, tuna, and other oily fish. Particularly salmon is a great food to consume for eye health. Salmon and other fish have omega-3 fatty acids. These are “healthy” fats. Omega-3 fatty acids can contribute to the visual development and the health of the retina in the back of the eye. They can also help prevent dry eyes. Consider incorporating fish into your meal plan a few days a week. When you buy salmon, choose a wild-caught version instead of farm-raised salmon. That’s because farm-raised salmon has more saturated fat and less omega-3s than wild-caught salmon. Salmon and most fish can be grilled or broiled. Try seasoning it with fresh herbs, lemons, and salt and pepper for a simple and delicious dinner

Not only delicious but also good for eyes.

  • Eggs, nuts, beans, and other nonmeat protein sources
Oranges and other citrus fruits or juices.  Orange and citrus fruits are rich in vitamin C, which may help improve the health of your eye tissue, according to the Age-Related Eye Diseases Study, a major clinical trial sponsored by the National Eye Institute. For the eye, vitamin C may help regenerate other important antioxidants, such as vitamin E.

Familiar fruit helps boost your eyes.

  • Oysters and pork

A well-balanced diet also helps you stay at a healthy weight. That will lower your odds of obesity and related diseases like type 2 diabetes, which is the leading cause of blindness in adults.

Quit smoking

It increases the risks of getting cataracts, causes damage to your optic nerve, as well as macular degeneration. Ask your doctor for help quitting this bad habit.

Wear Sunglasses

The right pair of shades will help protect your eyes from the sun’s ultraviolet (UV) rays. Too much UV exposure boosts your chances of getting cataracts and macular degeneration. Choose a pair that blocks 99% to 100% of UVA and UVB rays. Wraparound lenses help protect your eyes from the side. Polarised lenses reduce glare while you drive. If you wear contact lenses, some offer UV protection. But it’s still a good idea to wear sunglasses for an extra layer.

Use Safety Eyewear

If you have to have contact with hazardous or airborne materials at your work or home, wear safety glasses or protective goggles. Sports like ice hockey, racquetball, and lacrosse can also lead to eye injury. Wear eye protection. Helmets with protective face masks or sports goggles with polycarbonate lenses will shield your eyes.

Limiting the time looking at the computer screen

Staring at a computer or phone screen for too long can cause:

  • Eyestrain
  • Blurry vision
  • Trouble focusing at a distance
  • Dry eyes
  • Headaches
  • Neck, back, and shoulder pain
  • If your work requires you to look constantly at the computer, you should:
  • Make sure your glasses or contacts prescription is up to date and good for looking at a computer screen.
  • If your eye strain doesn’t go away, talk to your doctor about computer glasses.
  • Move the screen, so your eyes are level with the top of the monitor. That lets you look slightly down at the screen.
  • Try to avoid glare from windows and lights. Use an anti-glare screen if needed.
  • If your eyes are dry, blink more.
  • Rest your eyes every 20 minutes. Look 20 feet away for 20 seconds. Get up at least every 2 hours and take a 15-minute break.

Eye exercise

Often at times when your eyes are fixed either on your laptop screen, TV screen or even the computer screen, your eye become lazy and losses necessary move it needs to function properly just like our body. Therefore it is important to exercise your eyes, to keep your eye nimble and flexible. There is a few exercise that you can do.
1. Moving your eye incircle clockwise and anti-clockwise. Do this about ten round.
2. Moving your eye up and down side to side and diagonal(both side). Each movement can be done ten times.
3. Focus close and far exercise. Put your index finger about 6 inches away from your face. Pick a point straight ahead behind your finger about 3 meters away to focus on. Switch focus between your finger and the far focus point. As you eye get better at focusing long distance you can move your finger close and the distance focus point further.

Message your eyes

When you lazy and have not exercise your eye often, or even when you have a long day focusing on the screen for hrs on hrs messaging your eye is good to lose the tension on your eye. First, you need to rub your two palms together to generate heat. Then place the palm on your eyes, leave it there for about 5-10 second. Second closing your eyes and using your ring finger to lightly tap your eyes. Tap all corner of your eyes. You can move your eyeball while your eyes are close to each reach different part of your eyeball. You will eye the difference when you open your eyes; everything is brighter and richer.
